MemoriaRocas is a webdoc interactive multimedia documentary that combines and interweaves various narrative elements such as testimonial video, archive films, photography, sound, animation, infographics, and text. Through their interconnection, these elements allow us to uncover the recent history of a memory site marked by human rights violations in Chile during Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship in the 1970s. This historical site is known as the former Santo Domingo Detention and Torture Center, one of the lesser-known centers that played a profoundly nefarious role, as it was there that the DINA — Chile’s secret police — was initially formed during the early years of the dictatorship.
