Unseen to Unstoppable: Disabled Filmmakers Reshape U.S. Cinema
Slamdance Unstoppable: On the Road is expanding its reach with a new tour across seven U.S. cities during the summer of 2025. This initiative brings 14 films by 17 groundbreaking filmmakers with disabilities to arthouse theaters around the country, connecting their work with diverse audiences across different communities. The Unstoppable program, known for championing underrepresented voices and inclusive storytelling, now takes its mission on the road—offering a broader platform and deeper local impact. Moderated by disability advocate, writer, and filmmaker Juliet Romeo, the tour will spotlight the creative vision of artists historically excluded from the mainstream. By showcasing these films in arthouse venues, Slamdance Unstoppable: On the Road seeks to increase visibility for disabled artists, build cultural bridges between regions, and redefine access and representation in the film industry.
