Lumbago

During a heatwave, an older businessman entertains two entrepreneurs in his living room with a never-ending story, while his grown-up children lose their marbles outside in the garden. As the story drags on, despite constant interruptions and the suffocating heat, the two guests realize they’re trapped in what turns into a family showdown of absurd and unpleasant proportions. Lumbago is a surreal dark comedy based on the comics of director and screenwriter Bendik Kaltenborn. The film combines live action and animation to tell the tale from different angles. To complete the intense mood, Kaltenborn’s long-time collaborator Terje Olsen (aka Todd Terje) has composed a sparkling score featuring all-new music.
