(THIS FILM WAS PART OF OUR 2024 FESTIVAL LINEUP AND IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE ON THE SLAMDANCE CHANNEL) The episode opens with Lucy & Sara giving their first on-camera interviews. During the interview, Sara reminds everyone of their father's final plea, emphasizing the importance of looking after each other since they ‘ain’t got no one else’. To which Lucy simply responds, ‘I’ve got Donald’. As we move through the episode, we start to get a sense of what ‘looking after each other’ might exactly mean. Sara, in a bout of loneliness and a desperate cry for help, threatens to kill herself. Lucy, determined to make Sara understand the gravity of her actions, concocts a plan with Donald to scare her straight. This plan ends up spiraling out of control and biting Lucy in the ass. Through the season, these two adult mismatched sisters grapple through their issues with only the other to lean on. Oddly codependent yet never truly close, the show delves into the unconventional ways they attempt to support each other.
